25 Green Water Springtails (Isotomurus retardatus)

A truly water loving springtail. This species evolved for a semi-aquatic lifestyle and can be found roaming on and near water in the wild but cultures great on solid ground. They have a voracious appetite which if met leads to very fast reproduction. They are very energetic and can jump extremely high so use caution. Captive bred since September 2023.

Originally collected by Springtails US from the surface of an Illinois pond. Can be found on and near permanent bodies of water. Range/distribution Nearctic.
